Information You Send Directly
Names, phone numbers, and addresses entered in the search forms are transmitted to the outside provider that supplies those results. Our servers do not retain a copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the details included in your message and use them to respond.
Automatically Collected Data
Like most hosted sites, the service may create standard logs containing an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. We use aggregated information to operate the directory and understand page use. Basic analytics, cookies, or comparable technologies may also support measurement and, where used, advertising measurement.
How We Use Information
Information is used to run and maintain the directory, diagnose technical problems, measure general traffic, and improve content. We do not sell a list of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.

Town of Montgomery Residents Directory links to Orange County, New York State, library, archive, and search-provider resources. Their own privacy terms govern anything submitted on those services. The same is true of sponsored search results supplied by a separate company.
Service Providers and Disclosure
Hosting and support providers may process the routine log data needed to operate the site. Analytics or advertising providers may receive the automatic information described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires disclosure, not as a regular data-sharing practice.
Data Security and Retention
The directory is served through an encrypted connection. Operational logs are retained only for the period reasonably needed for the uses described here. Because the site has no user accounts, it does not maintain visitor passwords or account profiles.

Your Privacy Requests
Depending on where a visitor lives, access, correction, or deletion rights may apply to data a service keeps. New York has no enacted comprehensive consumer privacy statute that creates a universal visitor-data deletion right. Because this directory keeps very little, a request generally concerns the contact mailbox or operational logs. Use the Contact page to make that request. Government-held public records are not controlled by this directory: requests about Town of Montgomery, Orange County, or New York State records belong with the original custodian. New York Freedom of Information Law requests are governed by Public Officers Law Article 6, subject to its exemptions and each custodian’s procedures.
