This Is Not a Government Office or Records Custodian. This private reference cannot pull records, certify copies, confirm a person's current address, or change an official roll or database. Direct each request to the office that holds the record. For an emergency, call 911. For stalking or harassment concerns, contact local police.
Where to Request a Specific Record
Use the record type to select the custodian. Town records, county land records, court papers, and historical collections are held through different offices and access routes.
- Address-keyed and parcel records: use By Street for the Town of Montgomery GIS, assessment, BAS, and deed sequence.
- Historical volumes and dated household material: use City Directories for the regional directory, newspaper, atlas, OCGS, and library routes.
- A named individual record question: use Resident Lookup for the official verification workflow and privacy limits.
- General office routing: see the Town of Montgomery records offices information.
- Town records not online: make a focused request under New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law Article 6, to the Town Clerk or the agency that maintains the record.
